Mr Porter’s The Journal this week announced the arrival of an exclusive collection from Wooyoungmi, made available only for the luxury menswear retailing giant.
The South-Korean label has become the third brand to collaborate with Mr Porter in less than a month, which is a credit to the e-tailer’s revered success and reputation. The 8-piece capsule collection is designed to be a continuation of the Wooyoungmi SS14 collection, and includes, among other things, a cooly unstructured blazer, a simple tee and shirt that boast a digital catcus print, and suede, snake and leather panelled trainers. Inspirations vary from architecture, art and nature.
“I looked to create a capsule collection that was a natural evolution of my spring/summer 2014 show, with its influences from the Korean artist Kyung Woo Han,” Youngmi explains. “I was particularly inspired by the colours of minimal natural landscapes: sky blue, desert terracotta and cactus green.”
To showcase the collection in all its glory, that smart lot over at Mr Porter featured in within a beachy editorial shoot. Read the feature and purchase your favourites from the collection here.
