Here at MFM, finding out the inspiration behind a collection is always one of our top favourite things and when it comes to the TRIWA AW14 it is the month of November. Describing the month as “dark”, TRIWA have said that November became the influence and helped them work within “subdued autumnal colours”. They aimed to keep it varied with deep navy, black, rich copper, warm greys, whites, gold and army green.

The colour palette is of the utmost importance with the latest designs, adding to what November means both as a season and how that season incorporates into the collection and, by extension, our style. TRIWA’s keen eye falls towards the Swedish countryside and how, as they put, “see the leaves fall on the first touch of frost.”

The collection has two new models – the Hvalen and the Skala. The Hvalen is described as a diving watch. With a combination of the classic, sharp silhouette the Hvalen finishes with a contemporary twist. The contemporary use is shown with the unidirectional rotational stainless steel bezel and sun-ray dial. The Skala, measuring 36mm, has become TRIWA’s smallest watch in their history. TRIWA themselves call it a “statement piece”, coming in three colour combinations and has an organic leather strap from Swedish tannery Tarnsjo.

To us, the watch is the number one accessory. It not only brings your own signature to an outfit, it’s not only useable but full of style. TRIWA’s latest collection is an understanding of that, coupled with an appreciation for its seasonal tones. Wait no longer gents, rush out and grab yours.
