THIS UGLY SHOE HAS MADE A RESURGENCE. YES, THE CROC! AND WE DON’T LIKE THEM

We know the crocs have come back into style, but really? A shoe, a plastic slip-on worn notably by everyone in summer, favoured by the rich and famous and those who like to potter in the garden. And these ugly shoes have become a niche trend, worn by instagrammers, influencers artists, celebrities, your dad and your brother, oh and small but-influential-groups of fashion insiders.

Comfort is undoubtedly one of the primary drivers behind Crocs’ resurgence. Men, like anyone else, value comfortable footwear, and Crocs offer just that. With their lightweight and cushioned design, they provide an effortless walking experience, making them ideal for casual wear, outdoor activities, and even work environments where comfort is key. Never wear them to work, please.

Another factor contributing to the resurgence of Crocs is their versatility and while traditionally seen as casual footwear, Crocs have evolved to include a range of styles and designs that cater to different tastes. Sorry, but they are not tasteful, and you guys can now choose from an array of colours, patterns, and even customised accessories to personalise their Crocs and this newfound versatility allows individuals to express their personality and unique sense of style, even if it doesn’t conform to conventional fashion norms. Duh.

The ability to make a statement and stand out from the crowd is an appealing aspect for many men seeking individuality. Well they certainly might be standing on their own, not everyone’s fave shoe, and unsurprisingly, everyone has become queing to wear Crocs, the much maligned and probably not enough ridiculed crocs have actually shown to have made a resurgence in popularity cross the irony divide.

While some may argue that Crocs are far from cool, the resurgence of their popularity among men proves that coolness is subjective and ever-changing. Fashion trends are cyclic, and what was once deemed uncool can quickly become a symbol of individuality and self-expression, and Crocs, with their emphasis on comfort, utility, versatility, have managed to captivate the attention of men seeking footwear that, well, boosts their personal style. So, whether or not one finds Crocs cool, it is evident that they have found their niche and are here to stay, at least for the time being. But please tell me, how are Crocs becoming or even  stylish?

Crocs are cool again, whether you like it or not. I’m a NOT. How about you?.
