The Super Sustainable Knit That Should Be In Your Wardrobe

If anyone were to ask me where to get a pair of sustainable, well fitting pair of jeans with free repairs then I’d happily point them in the direction of Nudie Jeans, however, they wouldn’t immediately come to mind if someone asked for sweater recommendations.

Foolish me was yet to come across the Frank Chunky Rib by Nudie, their chunky rib crew neck sweater is made solely from 100% organic cotton, which is not surprising given the fact that the brand prides itself on its impeccable sustainability reports. Coming in two colours, Olive and Hazel, this chunky knit features drop shoulders and a straight fit giving it a perfectly relaxed look that will work well with almost any casual outfit you can think of this season, to quote Nudie themselves “it’s simple and perfect”.

This knit would surely look great with either a pair of jeans or chinos for a casual Sunday morning coffee run, and equally as good for a lunch date. As it is made with a full cardigan stitch technique, it offers well-needed warmth without compromising an inch on style. Its colourways are certainly on trend too, with an Autumnal offering of green and brown shades. In my opinion, the ideal way to wear this piece is on a crisp weekend morning, with a pair of white, tapered trousers, chunky socks and Birkenstocks.

The price tag may be a put off for some, but I would gladly argue Nudie’s case here, as the complete transparency offered by the brand for each individual product reveals how incredibly well-made their pieces are. For under £150, this sweater will surely show you its value in cost per wear and will be a staple item in your winter wardrobe.
