Allbirds is the vision of New Zealand native founder, Tim Brown, who one day wondered whether the sustainably-sourced merino wool could be used in the production of activewear and footwear. Brown noticed that the material was virtually nonexistent in this corner of the apparel industry, and teamed up with Joey Zwillinger, an engineer and renewable’s expert, to create Allbirds. The brand started out by creating a revolutionary wool fabric made specifically for footwear, setting their products apart in an entirely new category.

The brand has since expanded into the production of a variety of other items. One corner of this is their Activewear range, all created from sustainable materials and utilising ultra-light, breathable mesh. The Natural Run Tee is also temperature-regulating and sweat-wicking. It is made of materials such as eucalyptus tree fiber, merino wool and Tencel™ Lyocell.

The fit is described as an easy, slim fit that hits at the hips, and they claim that you can work out in confidence thanks to its unrestricting shape and breathable fabric. The look is clean and simple, avoiding hefty logos. It is clear that all of the effort has been put into the high quality of the production, with the materials used standing apart from other brands.

Made with the same breathable materials, the shorts in this range aim to keep you cool and wick away any unnecessary moisture, allowing you to stride, squat and stretch away. The shorts are designed for use in running, training and walking. They are an unlined, relaxed fit with a 7” inseam. There is a hint of stretch in the fabric, meaning you are free to exercise to your heart’s content.

The length is desirable for what most people are looking for: they aren’t too short, or too restricting. The colours on offer would also suit most tees in your workout rotation, with the option of black, grey or a smart navy.
