Red Wing Heritage is stepping into AW26 with two new releases that showcase different sides of the American footwear brand’s history. One revives an archive silhouette originally designed for life on the ranch, while the other takes the unmistakable Moc Toe and prepares it for considerably harsher winter conditions.

Arriving for the new season are the 8224 Chelsea Rancher and 8213 Norway Moc, both combining Red Wing’s workwear heritage with the craftsmanship and practical construction that have helped its boots become menswear staples far beyond their original working environments.
The Chelsea Rancher Returns
First up is the 8224 Chelsea Rancher, an archive model making its return to the Red Wing Heritage collection.
Originally developed for American sheep ranchers, the pull-on boot was designed to provide a practical alternative to traditional lace-up work boots. It eventually became part of Red Wing’s Heritage collection during the 1990s, where its stripped-back design found a new audience, before being discontinued in 2019.

Now the Rancher is back.
The AW26 edition remains deliberately close to the original, retaining the understated Chelsea-style silhouette and utilitarian construction while introducing subtle updates to the comfort and overall finish.
Its laceless construction gives the Rancher an incredibly versatile appearance. There are clear workwear influences, but the simplicity of the silhouette means it can easily move into more contemporary wardrobes. Worn beneath straight-leg denim, relaxed trousers or heavyweight chinos, it offers an alternative to both traditional Chelsea boots and bulkier heritage footwear.
Underfoot, Red Wing has paired Goodyear Leather Welt construction with a Vibram 430 Mini-Lug outsole, providing additional grip without dramatically changing the streamlined profile of the boot.
The 8224 Chelsea Rancher launched on 15 September and is available through Red Wing Shoe Stores and selected dealers, priced at £369.
The Moc Toe Gets Winter-Ready
For those looking for something built specifically for the colder months, Red Wing has also introduced the 8213 Norway Moc.
Designed in Minnesota and originally developed for customers in Norway, a country where Red Wing has established a longstanding following — the boot takes the brand’s instantly recognisable Moc Toe silhouette and adapts it for wet, cold and icy conditions.
The biggest changes are found in its construction.
A Norwegian-style Storm Welt provides additional protection from the elements, while a felted wool footbed adds insulation underfoot. Red Wing has also fitted the boot with a Vibram Fire & Ice Lug outsole, engineered to provide traction in wet and icy conditions at temperatures down to -23°C.

A padded collar brings additional comfort around the ankle, while a breathable Dri-brelle canvas lining helps regulate warmth and moisture, an important detail for a boot designed to move between freezing outdoor conditions and warmer indoor environments.
Red Wing has even reconsidered one of its most recognisable leathers for the release.
The Norway Moc uses the brand’s Copper Rough & Tough leather, but with a Scotch-grain embossed finish. According to Red Wing, the treatment provides four times greater water resistance while maintaining the character and ability to develop the distinctive patina associated with its full-grain leather.
As with Red Wing’s other Heritage footwear, the leather is produced at the company’s own S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Minnesota, continuing the vertically integrated approach that has long been central to the brand.
Two Boots, Two Sides of Red Wing
Together, the Chelsea Rancher and Norway Moc offer two very different propositions for AW26.
The Rancher is the cleaner and more understated option, bringing an almost forgotten Red Wing silhouette back into the spotlight. The Norway Moc, meanwhile, takes one of the brand’s most familiar designs and gives it genuine cold-weather credentials.
Both remain unmistakably Red Wing: functional, substantial and designed to look increasingly individual the longer they are worn.
The Red Wing Heritage 8213 Norway Moc launches 18 September, priced at £399, while the 8224 Chelsea Rancher is available now for £369 through Red Wing Shoe Stores and selected dealers.
