Directed by filmmaker and photographer Harley Welr, Paul Smith’s latest collection, in collaboration with British brand, Swim Deep, was in the spotlight. The film, set to Swim Deep’s ‘Francisco’ from their debut album Where the Heaven Are We, took a stroll through the upcoming collection. The film also featured band members Zach, Higgs, Cavan and Austin who go about encountering happenings within the labyrinth of Paul Smith’s designs.

The collection sees relaxed tailoring and a sun-soaked palette which are wound together with fabrics and detail. Jim Morrison’s iconic style has been at the forefront of the collection, bringing forward and tying together the elegance of the 21st century in order to connect this with music.

With flamingo motifs and musical notes featuring prominently in the men’s catwalk collection, it was also shown on T-shirts and other shirting. With pinks and oranges adding to the piece, it shows the transition into winter, reminiscent of the neon motel lights the band were exposed to during late night touring.

Swim Deep’s music has not only been a feature in the film but a source of inspiration. The collaboration will be used more with drummer, Zach Robinson soon to feature in the Paul Smith Autumn/Winter catwalk campaign. More great things are to come with this collaboration and we wait eagerly.
