Our LC:M Round Up With River Island
YMC
The day kicked off with YMC. With a light colour palette and slightly more experimental offerings than last season including bucket hats with built in visors. We picked this summery look for it’s lightweight appeal and ease of wear.

LOU DALTON
Lou Dalton was the next on our radar with a fresh take on the summer suit. A full white outfit is not the easiest to pull off but done correctly it can look great as illustrated here.

ASTRID ANDERSEN
Astrid Andersen further excelled with her signature luxe sportswear this season, by combining Japanese inspired patterns and used a paisley theme throughout, notable was the great Nike trainers which had been given a martial arts injection thanks to some great leg wraps. We loved her use of backpacks so have chosen this look as out inspiration.

MATTHEW MILLER
Matthew Miller showcased his incredible creativity by using just pinstripe fabric and raw denim for his whole collection. We’ve combined both elements here with some relaxed pinstripe shorts and an indigo jacket.

LEE ROACH
Finally, Lee Roach unveiled a collection with a military themed colour palette. We were really feeling the collarless blazer cuts with hidden buttons. We’ve chosen this look, which can be achieved by combining elements of Mr. Roach’s, show tones.

LC:M SS15 Day 2
OLIVER SPENCER
Covering Oliver Spencer backstage meant team MFM had a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the SS15 collection before it hit the runway. Our favourite picks of the collection were the soft summer suiting, of which we’ve picked out the monochromatic look.

RICHARD JAMES
Richard James heavy use of Safari jackets, along with Tom Ford’s flirtation with this long forgotten classic, hints at this being a huge trend for SS15. However we’ve chosen to pick out Richard James signature tailoring with this look due to its simplicity and wearability for all sorts of occasions this summer.

HACKETT
Hackett was a highlight of the three days for us at MFM, and the brand showed why they have become synonymous with stylish summer time suiting. We loved the simple styling and bold use of colour. If the red is too bold for you, why not go with a more muted tone, but something that will still pop against the white trousers.

JAMES LONG
James Long managed to create incredibly directional collections that are still wearable. We loved the sweater/denim short combination that he spiced up with bold blocks of embroidery and flashes of colour. Socks and sandals is a trend we saw emerge heavily over LCM. Mr Longs use of brightly colour blocked socks, moves the look right away from the ‘Brit-on-holiday’ moniker it has garnered.

CASELEY HAYFORD
The day was rounded off with Casely-Hayford, masters of Punk meets Tailoring. We witnessed a collection of closely cut pieces juxtaposed with a selection of oversized pieces. We picked a piece we thought could be incorporated into an every day wardrobe. Yes, it’s a bold look, but done correctly, you can make an impact for all the right reasons.

LC:M SS15 Day 3
ETAUTZ
An early morning rise was on the agenda for Day 3, as we we’re excited for Patrick Gran’ts E. Tautz. For all those capable of dragging themselves out of bed for the show at 9am, we were treated to an array of finely tailored pieces as well as some over sized shorts. With seaside Britain as an influence on the collection, rock candy stripes appeared throughout and for the first time for E. Tautz, denim featured heavily. We’ve gone with a look influenced by one of our favourite showings at Mr Grants collection.

BURBERRY
Christopher Kane, like many designer this season, used denim throughout his collection with summery colours flowing throughout. Hats featured on almost all of the looks, which could be a huge trend for the next summer season. We’ve recreated the main features of most of the collection with the look below.

KATIE EARY
Mrs Directional herself, Katie Eary, again ran with a theme, and ran with it strongly. Last seasons punk theme was completely discarded for this seasons rodeo themed collection. Embracing it completely we saw washed out denim paired with paisley prints that screamed Easy Rider. Finding similar items this season has been a bit tough for us but we’ve managed to put together a Katie Eary inspired look.

A SAUVAGE
With printed suits, shirts, jackets, bags and shoes, Adrien Sauvage really broke down barriers this season with his SS15 collection. We loved his standout burnt orange/red suit that closed his show. A heavy coloured suit with a bold print shirt is going to be a huge look for SS15 and its something you can achieve this season if done well.
