For most music producers, a track begins with a sound. For KAAZE, it begins somewhere further
back, in scent, spritzed into the studio air before a single note is written. A discipline of the nose as
much as the ear.
It’s a fitting habit for someone who has built an entire career on paying attention to the intricate details
and fleeting moments that most people move past too quickly to notice: a smell, a city, a feeling and
turning it into something that lasts. Music, travel, performance and creativity have shaped his world for
two decades. Pistache, his debut fragrance, is simply the first time that world has taken a form you
can actually hold.
The Swedish DJ, producer, businessman and father began collecting perfumes over 20 years ago,
not as a personal statement, but as a source of inspiration in the studio. “I lead with my nose, as
much as my ear, when I’m writing music,” he explains. “If I want to create a summer, Ibiza-style
record, I reach for notes of citrus and coconut, fresh aromatics that then influence the tempo,
the key, and in turn the musical notes I produce.”
That instinct now has a name. With a personal collection of over 200 fragrances, KAAZE, worked
directly with luxury perfume house Fragrance Du Bois for over two years to create a premium
unisex fragrance influenced Pistache, assisted by esteemed perfumer Dalia Izem at Givaudan, to
ensure every note in Pistache is genuinely his own, not a name licensed to a product, but a life
distilled into one.

The fragrance carries the evidence of that life throughout. There’s indulgence in pistachio and
caramel, carried home from Rome, a city KAAZE returns to more than any other. Hibiscus and
jasmine bring the sharp, bright register of Tokyo, a favoured tour destination of KAAZE’s. Vanilla and
soft musk hold the confidence of Las Vegas. Coconut and Brazilian coffee run through the
composition as its constant, the throughline connecting a life spent between cities into something
singular. All distilled into an aptly chic glass bottle, perfectly sized for the modern go-getter who lives
and travels to the fullest.
Off-stage, his routine looks closer to an athlete’s than a headline DJ’s, hotel, sleep, gym, business
affairs, studio, stage, no exceptions made. “I work sharper now, not more,” he says. “Compress
everything, protect the rest, spend it on my daughter.” Fatherhood, since his daughter’s birth, has
only sharpened that discipline further, a shift that led directly to the launch of his own record label,
named in her honour.
That discipline is matched by scale. KAAZE has remained a fixture of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll
since 2021, built a global touring career that includes a sold-out debut North American tour,
RESONANCE, in 2025, and collaborated with artists including Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris and David
Guetta. He’s played some of the most recognisable stages, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Ministry of Sound,
Parookaville, most recently debuting at the world’s biggest music festival Tomorrowland in
Belgium, performing across both weekends.
The Fragrance Du Bois partnership predates any formal deal. KAAZE had been buying the house’s
scents for years, drawn to them long before there was any other reason to, simply a liking and trust in
their curation. That loyalty, paired with a 200-piece collection built over two decades and a fragrance
he’d wanted to make for just as long, gives Pistache a provenance most high-profile collaborations can’t
claim.
