Shoreditch is fast becoming a must visit menswear destination. Already home to the likes of APC, Sunspel and many more, French brand K-Way have just joined that hip part of London. For those unfamiliar with the brand, they are perhaps best known for their outerwear – typically brightly coloured and always weatherproof, they have made a name for themselves as the place to go to avoid getting caught out in the French rain.
The new store, which is on Commercial Street (round the corner from Spitalfields Market) is a blueprint for ten more European stores by the end of 2015. The space is a pretty vast one. Set over 870 square foot and two floors it is clean and modern and caters for men and women. The simple white backdrop is the perfect choice as it lets the bright colours of the coats do all the talking.
Previous stocked online via ASOS and in stores like Urban Outfitters and Size, it is great to see K-Way expand to their own retail destination. If you have a chance to have a wander, you will be impressed by the broad range of technical outerwear styles. New stores call for new stock too, so expect to see variations on the iconic designs. For example, the Leon waterproof pac-a-mac which is only £50 has been developed in more performance led, fashion forward fabrics that are around the £500 mark.
With collaborations in the past with the likes of Versace Versus and New Balance, we, at MFM, are really looking forward to seeing what K-Way has in store next. While we are waiting though, we can definitely feel confident of being ready for the winter weather.
