Designer J.W. Anderson is growing bigger each year. His newly appointed role as creative director of Loewe, highlights his potential to become a prominent name in the future for fashion. Although his new role will acquire a great degree of his time, Anderson has decided to retire from work with the basics label, Sunspel, until the end of the season. However, before he departs he will be collaborating in a one off collection with Sunspel.
His role as the creative director at Sunspel has taught him a lot and this collection pays homage to this. Anderson explained how “working with Sunspel really taught me how to create basics of the highest quality and this collection is a take on classics – and using the classic elements of a wardrobe and rehashing them into something new. I followed the same organic process of experimenting on the body and cutting up and patching shapes and textures together’.
Anderson is making his way in the fashion world; progressing from the creative director of a British label to a global brand, suggests how big the designer may become in the future years. His past collection with Topshop and capsule collection with Versus further proves his rising success and personally I am excited to see what he brings to Loewe.
