First Look At Yves Saint Laurent Film

I don’t know about you, but I get pretty excited when a film or documentary comes out depicting the life of an iconic fashion legend; Chanel, Lagerfeld, Valentino, Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour (the list goes on). So when news broke that there would be a film about the life of legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent, many of the folks here at MFM were more than thrilled. Starring Pierre Niney stars as Yves Saint Laurent, has had a well respected seal of approval by the late fashion designer’s former partner, Pierre Bergé. Judging by the trailer, it is set to be a wonderfully told story of a fashion legend, who tragically died in 2008 from brain cancer at his home in Paris.

The film is seen as a celebration of his life and his career and all those iconic moments in between. The film, due out in France in early 2014, has been endorsed by Pierre Bergé, the co-founder of Yves Saint Laurent’s eponymous fashion house, longtime business partner and former life partner of the Algeria-born design star. The Jalil Lespert film focuses greatly on their romantic relationship. Here at MFM we are waiting with breath that is baited to find out the UK release date, patience was never one of our strongest virtues.
