Stuck for things to wear for the month of December? Want to give a nod to the impending Christmas celebrations without turning up to work in a Santa onesie? Well, the new capsule collection from Farah, exclusive to Urban Outfitters could be just what you need.
It was only two weeks ago that we brought you news of Farah collaborating with the artist Gavin Watson, on a digital print collection where images taken in the hedonistic 80s were printed onto t-shirts, shirts and a rather fetching bomber jacket.
It seems that there is no shopping the British heritage brand, as they have now worked with long term retail partner Urban Outfitters to create a Christmas ready capsule collection.
The new pieces give a subtle nod to Christmas, with some smart casual shirts and knits, focusing on prints. Shirt prints range from micro spots to more graphic prints, created by illustrator Em Prove. Both would be an appropriate for a December night out with the burgundy red shirt being a particular favourite of ours.
Knitwear follows a similar route – clean yarns have been used with merino mixes to create fine gauge roll necks, to statement colour block crew neck sweaters. In keeping with the subtle theme, there are no big Christmas logos or motifs so this collection is just what we have been looking for this season.
Festive but smart at the same time, the colour palette is largely off white and Christmas friendly shades of dark green and a burgundy red. This makes much of these pieces great to wear all year round – there is nothing wrong with a moss green roll neck in March.
The collection is available now at www.urbanoutfitters.com and in all Urban Outfitters stores nationwide.
