Darren Kennedy, on the launch of the collection, said, “our Spring Summer DK x LC ‘14 collection went down a storm both here and in the UK. I got a chance to wear every suit from the collection and the reaction I received was phenomenal. I feel confident that our new Autumn/Winter collection is our strongest to date.

“Both Louis and I have put a lot of work in to this collection, making use of the highest quality Italian fabrics, our combined experience and knowledge to create what I believe is, the quintessential must have winter wardrobe…each piece is a future classic in its own right.”

The capsule collection comprises a range of six suits and two coats in a variety of autumnal colours and styles, with prices starting at £629. Deep burgundy, navy blue and grey make up the core palette of the collection, all colours which are very much in style for the Autumn/Winter season, and which also appear on the linings of the suits, each of which is uniquely patterned.

A central concern of the collection is the quality of the fabrics used to make it, and for this range Darren Kennedy and Louis Copeland have worked together to source high quality, luxurious fabrics for their suits.

Soft and comfortable flannel is used widely in the collection, and is combined with signature details like peaked lapels and double-breasted waistcoats to give the whole range a modern, contemporary edge.

The collection has been designed around the theme of ‘Adventurers and Innovators’, so each of the suits have been named after “a famous Irish explorer and those simply adventurous in nature and spirit”.

This idea reflects the windswept, wintery feel but also points to the heritage of the Louis Copeland & Sons brand and infuses these suits with a sense of tradition, mixed with the modernity of the patterns and cuts.

Commenting on the move towards a more modern aesthetic, Louis Copeland said that “working with Darren has enabled us to show Louis Copland customers that we also think outside of the creative box and we are thrilled the collections are such a huge hit with our valued clients”.

Trying to find a well-made suit that will look stylish now but also stand the test of time for years to come is one of the hardest things us modern males have to do, and finding one that won’t break the bank is a once in a lifetime thing. These suits could just be the answer to all our sartorial prayers thanks to their modern patterns but timeless cuts.
