We’re big fans of Parmigiani Fleurier and the latest collection caught our eye. 2017 sees the brand revert to it’s beginning roots, with a contemporary interpretation of the first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani called the Toric Chronomètre.
This simple design is a portrayal of the passage of time, reinventing the model which founded the brand in 1996.
When you see the bezel, you know it’s a Michel Parmigiani watch, with Michel Parmigiani basing the design of the watch on the structure of a Doric column, the purest symbol of ancient Greek architecture. The bezel is the Toric’s signature and it’s created by the only craftsman in Val-de-Travers to possess this skill; he has been working with Michel Parmigiani since 1996.
The new Toric Chronomètre has some differences from the original watch that launched the brand, it’s been redesigned with a more elegant case that fits perfectly on your wrist. Comfort has been considered, with the end of the strap and it’s attachment being made more ergonomic.
In terms of the colour ways for the watch the case comes in either white or red gold. These classic colour ways make the watch extremely versatile but the luxury detailing creates a subtle statement.
The dials are available in black opaline or a white grained version, and the dials are bought to life by two slender Javelin hands. It’s these finer details that really make this watch an item to truly cherish.
How To Wear It
Let’s be honest, this classic timepiece can be worn with any outfit. The simple colour ways and minimal design make it versatile, making it ideal to be worn with formal and casual attire.
It’s an investment piece that isn’t a trend led item. This watch will be a classic for centuries to come, a collectors item, something you can pass down the generations.
A personal favourite of ours is the red gold casing, as it creates a subtle statement and it’s a real conversation starter.
The Toric Chronomètre is available to buy now, and it’s something we recommend taking a hard look at.
