Standing proudly at LC:M in a signature big lapelled suit and perfectly polished Chelsea boots, the arguably world’s best dressed man unveiled something a little different than his usual cup of tea. Tom Ford swore when he started the company that he “would never make tennis shoes”, however he further added, “when I found away to make them look like ‘us’, I changed my mind”.

Better known for his suits and other formal wear, Ford showcased some of the most luxurious sneakers you’re likely ever to lay eye’s on. Although its been made clear that sneakers aren’t his favourite choice of footwear, it’s no surprise that he gave into designing these beauties with the demand there is for designer trainers at the moment.

Four looks were presented in two retro styles, high tops and low tops. As expected there were no neon, nylon or big logo’s on the simple designs, they were inspired by the formal shoes in the collection and required good old fashioned workmanship. The white soles are paired with either inky velvet or hand finished leather with layers of polish, a process with takes no less than three days. However by Fords high standards they’re reasonably affordable. The low top velvet sneakers start at £420, and the highest priced pair are the leather hi tops, which come in at £590. A variety of shades are available such as chestnut and forest green, we love everything Mr Ford produces and these luxurious kicks are no different.
