Saucony Originals, known internationally for their authentic collection of running footwear, have officially released their first premium range of the Autumn/Winter 2014 season. The new Shadow 6000 ‘Running Man’ collection symbolises the exciting reincarnation of the Saucony Originals’ 1991 Shadow shoe. The world-famous retro essential was known for featuring a soft EVA midsole to effectively absorb shock, thus giving a smoother experience.
Founded in 1898, the company claims that each and every shoe has “played a significant role in Saucony’s authentic running history and which celebrate their glorious past”. Thus, in accordance with the recent growth in popularity of trainers, the Shadow 6000 joins a number of classic designs which have been reissued and redeveloped.
The footwear comes in four classic colours that were used in its original design: red, green, blue, and mint. The shoe stays true to its original by encompassing a synthetic mesh with premium suede and leather overlays for that truly authentic look. In addition, it features a CMEVA and PU midsole for supportive cushioning.
The exterior of the Shadow 6000 is defined by its inclusion of Saucony’s iconic ‘Running Man’ logo, which features across the tongue of the shoe. Furthermore, the triangular lug outsole provides traction and durability.
The collection, which is priced at £90, is available in UK sizes 4-12. You can find the shoe at a range of different stockists, including End Clothing, Crooked Tongues, UI, Size?, and Hanon. With engineered stability in the heel and extra flexibility and cushion in the forefoot, the Shadow has been a favourite of the high-mileage runner since 1991. With the release of the new Shadow 6000, this popularity won’t be diminishing any time soon.
