As part of our coverage of British Fashion Council’s London Collections: Men, we take a look at Pretty Green’s presentation, showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2015 range.
Designed by Pat Salter, the collection is stylish and modern, while also being both elegant and sophisticated. Once again, the brand have designed a collection for the modern gentleman.
The collection was showcased at London’s The Edition Hotel. Inside its grand Victorian exterior, the hotel is home to modern-luxe rooms and exciting décor.
In this way, the hotel was perfectly suited to holding the showcase: both the hotel and the collection seamlessly combine the contemporary with the classic.
Founded in 2009 by rock legend Liam Gallagher, music is an integral influence on the label. This was reflected at the presentation when the catwalk came alive to the music of the sixties with the Beach boys and The Beatles, mixed with new sounds from Music Machine.
Furthermore, guests – including the likes of Carl Barat, John Hurt, Nick Hurt and Zak Starky – listened to a playlist of Julia Nunes, Girl Band, Music Machine, Eugene McGuinness, Tame Impala, The Beach Boys, The Youth, and The Beatles.
Fitting in with the theme of music, the collection, under the Black Label collection of the brand, is entitled ‘The Tour’, and is set for release in late July.
As designer Pat Salter has said, “Pretty Green is all about the music that has inspired generations through the decades. Being part of LC:M means we get the opportunity to showcase our brand not only through the clothes, but the music too.”
The collection embodies Liam’s passion for clothing from the past decades: the versatile range is inspired by the 60s fusion of Britain and America.
Luxury staples compliment the headline outerwear pieces that Pretty Green is known for. Additionally, British military undertones and MOD tailoring merge with the Beach Boys influence of floral patterns and textured fabrics to create a truly unique and striking look.
