With fashion revolving at a faster rate then ever before, staying abreast of what’s hot and what’s not isn’t always easy, nor is the expense it can often cost to replenish your wardrobe every three to six months. One sure fire way to get around this problem is by changing your hairstyle.

Quick, easy and relatively inexpensive, a new hairstyle can do wonders for your look and better still, only takes just a quick trip to a good barbers or hairdresser.

So as 2016 takes a hold, here are a few of the coolest styles for the new season…

50’s Slick Hair

Smart, stylish and relatively easy to maintain, what’s not to like about this 1950’s classic cut.  Either slicked with a side parting or combed straight back, the likes of Calvin Klein,Kenzo and Lemaire all showcased this vintage hairstyle for the forthcoming season.  Keep it shorter on the sides and longer on the top to achieve that old-school Hollywood look for a style that covers all your sartorial needs.

Military Hairstyle

Not so much a hairstyle as a statement of intent, the shorn all over look is making a comeback. Don’t be fooled, this is not your traditional barbers short back and sides, it’s short all over. Of course the higher your cheekbones the better you will look with this close cropped look but if you’re looking for a change there is no better way than getting rid of all those locks and starting again.

The Quiff

A classic look that has been all the rage for a couple of years now, if this is a look that you haven’t already tried, now is as good a time as any. Spotted on the classic British catwalks of Burberry and Oliver Spencer for the forthcoming year, the modern quiff harks back to bygone times while maintaining a modern day cutting edge.

The Fringe

Not everyone likes to have their hair dangling just above their eyes but this season has seen a drastic rise in men wearing their hair down over their foreheads. The likes of über cool high end brands such as Dries Van Noten, Paul Smith and Ami have all taken this look to heart while you will see a high-street full of cool young dudes sporting this lackadaisical look in the coming months.

Hippie Love

From Topman to Gucci, Saint Laurent to Hermes, the 70’s renaissance rolls on in terms of both clothing and hairstyles. The long flowing locks synonymous with those care free days of the hippie era were paramount in the S/S’16 collections and while us gents aren’t always keen on growing our hair past a centimetre long, for those of you brave enough to spend six months growing your hair out, the wait might be worth it once summer arrives.

Get It Cut

Us men aren’t renowned for change, once we like something we tend to stick with it – in fact most of the people we here at MFM know had had the same haircut most of their lives. However, change as they say, is as good a rest so why not try something a little different this year. And if you don’t like it, you can always go back to the short, back and sides you’ve sported since your first haircut way back when.
