Here at MFM we love hearing about how established companies help promote new talent and create opportunities to get involved in talent competitions. Lyle & Scott have been involved in the Campaign for wool  and this year they decided to create something new for wool week, the yearly celebration of Wool. This campaign is intended to raise awareness of wool in the UK promoting its use as well as its versatile and natural qualities.

woolschool_2They recently held a competition for the fashion students of Central St Martin’s in London, to design a brand new jumper for the company. Students were asked to consider the theme ‘knitwear traditions of the British Isles’ as well as Lyle & Scott’s brand identity. The winner was Katie Annis who also, as part of her prize was able to see her garment go on sale. This is a great way to promote new talent and is an excellent achievement for the winner.
