It may feel as if spring/summer 2015 has only just started, but at London Collections: Men last month, we were treated to a preview of all of the trends and clothes were we will be wearing when the sun starts to shine next year.
Cottweiler are one of the most exciting emerging brands on the London menswear fashion scene. The brand is the collective brainchild of Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty. Together they are known for their concept led designs; designs that tell a story of our social environment. Often conceptual, the clothes are always forward thinking and have the aspirational quality that every new brand needs to have to go on to further success.
On top of the seasonal collections that Cottweiler produce and that are stocked worldwide, the designer also work on producing films and installations. It was through an installation format that they chose to showcase their most recent designs at LC:M.
For spring/ summer, the brand moved away from the more confrontational designs that they are known for, to create an idea of masculinity that embraces nature and spirituality. Think New Age vibes that mix with modernity for soft, white pieces that are natural and masculine at the same time.
White was one of the biggest trends that we noted for next spring and there was plenty of it a Cottweiler. Here they were created in super lightweight bonded fabrics. The designers also used a semi-transparent yarn, which was combined with natural fibres in alternating stripes on a number of pieces. Find out more about the brand on their website.
