One of our favourite tailoring brands, Aquascutum has just unveiled its spring/summer 2015 collection and we have a closer look at some of the key pieces here.
Founded in 1851, Aquascutum has grown to this day because of its excellent outerwear and tailoring, which both are synonymous with style and luxury elegance. Both of these features are present in the latest collection which stays true to the brands classic heritage roots, but also delivers a light, modern and casual style.
Designed with the sophisticated gent in mind, the collection consists of a mainly grey, blue and red colour palette.
The outerwear is a key feature of the collection with the waterproof bonded Orwell trench coat having modern slash pockets deserving special mention. Also, the silk packable trench in navy allows you to easily carry it around with you when you are not wearing it.
If you are looking for the perfect sailing jacket, the bold red hooded single breasted trench coat would be a superb choice.
Knits range from light merino wool styles to the Weatherlet cashmere fisherman’s knit which is perfect to layer over shirts or under a casual blazer. In keeping with the labels reputation in producing superb evening wear, materials like Italian and English wools, silks, cotton and seersucker have all been sourced from the finest mills.
New for spring 2015 is a range of accessories. Created from the finest Italian sources, the leather holdall, document wallet and laptop case are that perfect mix of stylish and understated and fit for purpose (that being travelling). A previous collaboration with Harry’s of London for shoes continues with suede and leather loafers; lace up brogues and brown suede desert boots.
